A Musician Following His Dreams

Daniel Larsen, a writer for musical theater, does not avoid working hard to reach his dreams, but then for him, working with music is play. As a youth, Larsen was interested in becoming a pharmacist like his father. He recalled having been afraid to pursue his love of music because he was not sure if he would make money. However, he reconsidered following in his father's footsteps after two unhappy years of working as a pharmacist, and no time for his music. Larsen has always enjoyed writing music, so his spending long hours composing felt more like fun than work. When he finished arranging his first serious musical, "Soft Step," he found a local theater and began rehearsing it. His big break came when someone from a New York production company saw the show and proposed putting it on Broadway. Larsen's following his dreams was about to pay off, but he had some things to learn before making it big on Broadway.
